La Corale Giuseppe Verdi celebrates Carmelo Caruso's biographical book "The Two Hearts of an Immigrant" by Irene Sampognaro at A.N. F.E House

La Corale Giuseppe Verdi was invited to sing at A.N.F.E. to celebrate our Patron Carmelo Caruso's launch of this book. "The Two Hearts of an Immigrant", is the title of a biographical book about Tenerife resident and businessman Carmelo Caruso, and was launched on Thursday, 19 March at 7.30 p.m., at ANFE HOUSE 10 Wyandra Street, Newstead, organised by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Queensland. Viva Giuseppe Verdi Choral Society!

I first saw the choir by chance when I went to a cultural event in Roma Street Parklands in October 08: there was a theater with lots of organizations performing in succession. I joined the Choir the month after and participated to a few rehersals. I got a wonderful welcome by the members whom I thank so much. And then in December I started performing with my new "teammates". What a wonderful moment when I got that jacket representing 50 years of Choir's activity in Brisbane! I feel very proud to be part of this wonderful choir that so beautifully transmits our italian folklore in Brisbane.
My best wishes go to the guys of the Choir for a wonderful 2009 and many more years of wonderful performances! Thank you Giuseppe Verdi Choral Society!

After a dogged fight with a cruel illness, our Choir member Des Corley passed away two weeks ago. The Management Committee as well as all the singers from the Giuseppe Verdi Choral Society mourn his passing as it warmheartedly remembers almost 30 years of association with Des.
